How to make it out alive-ish
Keep moving toward your selected destination. Each driving, work, or camp day uses one meal per traveler. Motorcycles carry one traveler and suffer 30% worse encounter injuries. Other vehicles carry three. Fuel capacity includes reserve cans. Camp before fatigue reaches 75. You need 15 vehicle condition to drive; a spare part restores 28. Work pays cash but costs food, fatigue, and time.
Every week, bills take $65 ($100 for the financed hybrid). Low morale damages health. Fuel prices rise after economic crashes. Barter prices stay fixed. You can always take a local shift if you run out of money. Driving impaired causes a crash; camping first clears impairment. Reaching your destination alive before the deadline wins—even if you arrive broke. It’s a fresh start, not a credit check.
